Film Techniques, ideas

Through researching on the internet I have come up with the idea that our theme should have something a bit different about it and so I have been researching the French New Wave (La Nouvelle Vague) which was around in the late 1950s and 1960s. It was influenced by Italian Neorealism and classical Hollywood cinema.
The films were on low budget  helped filmmakers get at the essential art form and find what was, to them, a much more comfortable and honest form of production.

Film Techniques consisted of long tracking shots improvised dialogue, rapid changes of scene, and shots that go beyond the common 180ยบ axis and principles of strong narrative. I took a look at Jean-Luc Godard New Wave film Breathless  (1960)

I thought we could use some of the camera techniques as shown on this film. Also I had the idea that when we edit we can change it into black and white. It will give it some "quirky" edge as reflected the female character will be.
